Fall Break: In correspondence with the schools’ fall break, we will not have any programs at 9:15am or 6:00pm on Sunday, Oct. 16th. Care for infants through Pre-K will be available during worship at 10:30am. Do join us for worship at 10:30am!
Students, join us for lunch: College students are invited to hang out over lunch after worship on Sunday, Oct. 16th.
Missions Focus: We’re highlighting the CCC Missions program and missionaries during our annual fall focus and pledge drive. Please consider pledging to give to CCC Missions in 2023 using the handout in your bulletin or our online pledge form. The Missions budget is supported entirely by your designated giving; no funding comes from the CCC General Budget.
Meet Needs Within Our Church Family: Bring hope and help to people in our church family who are experiencing difficulties–be part of a pool of volunteers that the Deacons can call upon if needed. Please check out the Care Ministry Volunteer Opportunities survey to see the areas of need and let us know how you might help.
Senior Adult Ministry (SAM): We are changing the plan and going to Brown County for “Lunch and Leaves” this Thursday, Oct. 20th. Please meet at the church to carpool at 10:45am. Please direct any questions and your RSVP to Steve and Nancy Wooden. Our scheduled program, “Avoiding Scams” will be moved to Nov. 3rd.
CCC Garden Take-Down: The garden will be taken out on Saturday, Oct. 29nd. This will be a large operation and help is needed! Could you assist for even a couple of hours? Also, between Oct. 8-29 everything in the garden not marked as claimed will be up for grabs. This includes fencing, raised beds,
arbors, pea gravel, and soil.
Corral the Goats: The goats are out, and we want to help! Christ Community Kids is raising funds for Faith Farms in Gary, IN to build a fence for their goats. Can you help us reach our goal of $4,000 by donating baked goods that will be sold at this year’s Pumpkin Trail? Pre-bagged cookies and brownies (two each in snack-sized baggie) can be dropped off in the church kitchen from October 19-21. Please contact Leah Wooden to let us know how many treats you can contribute.
Membership Class: Interested in learning more about our church or possibly becoming a member? We invite you to attend the fall membership class. Class instruction days are 9:15-10:00am on Sunday, Oct. 23rd and 30th–please plan to attend both sessions. To sign up, please message Lynne through our online contact form so that enough materials can be prepared.
Save the Date! On Nov. 6th, come hear Matthew Smith in concert at CCC! Matthew is a Nashville-based singer-songwriter who writes brand new melodies to centuries-old hymn texts, helping guide people into emotionally honest worship. Advance tickets are $10 and can be purchased in the church office or at cccbloomington.org/matthewsmith. Children and students attend for free!
October Energy Action: Welcome, fall! It’s time to start thinking about how to stay warm as the temperature drops. This month, our task is to consider how to insulate your attic or if there is enough insulation to keep your heat in the home and not going out the roof. Check out the October energy action sheet for some helpful information and even some do-it-yourself instructions.
