To be a loving, Christian presence in our community by serving the physical and spiritual needs of those in Bloomington and the surrounding area.
The Community Outreach Ministry exists to foster the participation of our congregation in volunteering their time, talent, and financial resources to organizations serving the many and varied needs of Bloomington and our surrounding communities.

Garden Villa Nursing Home Outreach
Our monthly meetings are currently on hold because of the Covid-19 pandemic. Members of Christ Community reach out to residents of Garden Villa on the 3rd Thursday of every month, from 4 to 5pm. Through music, a short devotional, and fellowship, they seek to share the love of Christ.
All ages are welcome and no experience is necessary–just a heart tender towards senior adults. For more information, contact John Mangrum.

(Formerly the Hannah House Maternity Home & Crisis Pregnancy Center)
The Hannah Center provides confidential, compassionate support for anyone affected by pregnancy or early parenting challenges. They offer free pregnancy testing, counseling, parenting and childbirth education, needed supplies, and a 24-hour Helpline to result in a healthy mom and a healthy baby.
Hannah House Maternity Home is a safe place where moms learn valuable life skills, including budgeting, meal planning, and preparing for job interviews. Case management helps them to reach other educational or life goals. It’s more than a place to live. It’s a place to grow.

Habitat For Humanity
Habitat for Humanity of Monroe County’s mission is to eliminate poverty housing by building simple, decent, affordable homes in partnership with qualifying families. Habitat homeowners pay interest-free, no-profit mortgages, which are used to build more Habitat houses. Because houses are principally built with volunteer labor, mortgage payments are affordable for low-income partners.
Habitat-qualifying families, or partner families, are selected based on their need for housing, ability to repay the no-interest mortgage, and willingness to partner with Habitat by earning 250 hours of “sweat equity” or volunteer time. Through the work of thousands of volunteers and organizations, Habitat for Humanity of Monroe County has built more than 150 homes.
