BTown Worship Night: Join us and others in our community for a Night of Worship on Sunday, Oct. 9, 6-8pm. Along with four area churches (Sherwood Oaks Christian Church, Clear Creek Christian Church, South Union Christian Church, and Westside Community Church), we will gather at the amphitheater at Switchyard Park for worship! Bring a blanket or chair to sit on. Food trucks starting at 4:00pm: Arepa Burger, Bloom Burger, Pili’s Party Taco, Pinoy Garden Café, Cup of Joy, and The Chocolate Moose.
Students, join us for lunch! College students are invited to hang out over lunch after worship on Sunday, Oct. 16th.
Fall Break: In correspondence with schools’ fall break, we will not have any programs at 9:15am or 6:00pm on Sunday, Oct. 16th. Do join us for worship at 10:30am.
Meet Needs Within Our Church Family: Bring hope and help to people in our church family who are experiencing difficulties–be part of a pool of volunteers that the Deacons can call upon if needed. Please check out the Care Ministry Volunteer Opportunities survey to see the areas of need and let us know how you might help.
CCC Garden Take-Down: The garden will be taken out on Saturday, Oct. 29nd. This will be a large operation and help is needed! Could you assist for even a couple of hours? Also, between Oct. 8-29 everything in the garden not marked as claimed will be up for grabs. This includes fencing, raised beds,
arbors, pea gravel, and soil.
Corral the Goats: The goats are out, and we want to help! Christ Community Kids is raising funds for Faith Farms in Gary, IN to build a fence for their goats. Can you help us reach our goal of $4,000 by donating baked goods that will be sold at this year’s Pumpkin Trail? Pre-bagged cookies and brownies (two each in snack-sized baggie) can be dropped off in the church kitchen from October 19-21. Please contact Leah Wooden to let us know how many treats you can contribute.
Membership Class: Interested in learning more about our church or possibly becoming a member? We invite you to attend the fall membership class. Class instruction days are 9:15-10:00am on Sunday, Oct. 23rd and 30th–please plan to attend both sessions. To sign up, please message Lynne through our online contact form so that enough materials can be prepared.
Save the Date! On Nov. 6th, come hear Matthew Smith in concert at CCC! Matthew sets old hymn texts to new musical arrangements. Advance tickets are $10 and can be purchased in the church office or at cccbloomington.org/matthewsmith.
October Energy Action: Welcome, fall! It’s time to start thinking about how to stay warm as the temperature drops. This month, our task is to consider how to insulate your attic or if there is enough insulation to keep your heat in the home and not going out the roof. Check out the October energy action sheet for some helpful information and even some do-it-yourself instructions.
