Camp Registration: We love it when we camp at Olivet! Registration for 2024 camps is open to CCC families and will open to the general public on Feb. 19th. Don’t wait to register—once it opens to the public, camp fills up fast! Learn more at cccbloomington.org/camp.
Community Night/Hands Helping Hannah: Come hang out with your church family and serve little ones in our community on Feb. 25th at 6pm. We’ll start with worship led by a youth band then move to sharing pizza and making baby blankets for The Hannah Center.
College Lunch: College students, you’re invited to stay for lunch after worship on Feb. 18th in Rm. 17. Come hang out with your peers, some CCC pastors, and some IU profs in our congregation.
Pictorial Directory Photos: If you consider yourself to be a part of our congregation, please submit a picture of your family for our next pictorial church directory by going to cccbloomington.org/directory. One self-serve photo station will still be available in the Gathering Space on Sunday.
Officer Nominations: The Nominating Committee has begun its work identifying potential candidates to replace individuals rotating off the Elder and Deacon Boards and the Nominating Committee. We are soliciting suggestions from the congregation for potential nominees to these boards/committees. Faith & Art Film Series: The Faith+Art Book Club is hosting a three-month film series here at the church, with pre-screening discussions and potluck dinners. A Concert for All: IU Jacobs School of Music professors Marietta Simpson, Patricia Stiles, and Linda Strommen welcome you to a late afternoon concert. They will be accompanied by Jin Sook Kwak, who will also perform. All are nationally and internationally acclaimed performers as well as devoted teachers. The Senior Adult Ministry invites all to come Thursday, Feb. 29th, at 5:30pm. A cookie reception will follow. We are fortunate to enjoy the talents of these CCC members and welcome friends of all ages to attend.
CCC Library News:
- Puzzle Swap: Bring in a puzzle, take a puzzle, and repeat! Let’s share our puzzles with one another! No checkout needed, just help yourself. Children’s puzzles available as well.
- Poetry for season of Lent (40 days before Easter; Lent began on February 14th): Christian poems to meditate on during Lent are available. Learn some classic poems as well as newer ones. New poems added weekly. Take as many as you want! Great for devotions and quiet moments of reflection.
- Special collections: On the wall between rooms 17 and 18, we have started a section on special collections for easy access of resources: Collections include Grief and Loss, Small Group Resources, Faith and Art, Faith and Science, Marriage, Parenting, Creation Care, Senior Adult Ministry (SAM) Resources.
- New book cart: Don’t forget to look through our new book cart for books recently added to the library. Browse our list of books online
- Donations: Spring cleaning? We accept donations of Christian books, both fiction and non-fiction, adult or kids. Thank you!
Preschool: Registration for 2024-2025 preschool classes is open! Information and registration can be found at cccbloomington.org/preschool.
GriefShare is a friendly, caring group of people who will walk alongside you through one of life’s most difficult experiences. A group will meet in Rm. 17 from 6 to 8pm every Wednesday, through April 24th. You are welcome to join anytime! Go to griefshare.org/groups/177658 for more info or to sign up.
