School Year Schedule:

A Time to Celebrate: The long-awaited Leyaata Hospital in Carpenter, Ghana will be dedicated and opened this Sunday, Aug. 21st (5am EST)! David and Brenda Mensah invited Pastor Bob to attend the celebration in person, and we, too, can watch along on the GRID YouTube page. Please join in thanking the Lord for this much-needed community resource and in praying for the staff, medical professionals, and patients who will come through its doors.

CCC Library Book Sale: The CCC Library will host a book sale in the Gathering Space in September as a fundraiser for new library materials. This will be a great opportunity to cull your book collections at home and share them with friends who may enjoy them. Christian and family-friendly secular books may be brought to the church starting Monday, August 22nd. Donations will be accepted until Sept. 11th.

Congratulations: David and Mary Ray are proud to announce the birth of grandchildren 12 days apart to their daughter Lizzie and their son David, both of whom participated in the CCC youth program during their school years. View the birth announcements

Elementary Kids’ Choir is starting again soon! Practices will be held 6:00-6:30pm in the chapel on Sunday nights, beginning September 11. If your child is interested in joining or if you have questions, contact Meredith Chupp.

Community Nights: We’re so excited for this new program! We’re kicking off weekly Community Nights on Sunday, Sept. 4th, at 6pm. They will look different from Sunday to Sunday but are sure to include music, testimonies, service projects, and devotionals over the course of the semester. Once a month, we’ll share a meal together, as well! Hope you’ll join us for this community time!

Wheeler Mission 100 Holes for the Homeless: You can help! Golfers (such as our own Chris Minderman) are helping those experiencing homelessness by committing to raise money as their entry fee for this Aug. 25th golfing fundraiser. Every $500 raised provides enough for one month of meals, shelter, and care for a guest at Wheeler Mission Bloomington. Learn more, sign up to golf, or donate to Chris’s fundraising efforts on the event webpage.

GriefShare is a friendly, caring group of people who will walk alongside you through one of life’s most difficult experiences; you don’t have to go through the grieving process alone. A group will meet in Rm. 17 from 6 to 8pm every Wednesday, Aug. 17 – Nov. 9th. You are welcome to join anytime! Go to GriefShare.org/groups/150145 for more detailed information about the ministry or to register.

Small Groups: Interested in joining a small group? Check out the list of open groups!

Adult Community Groups (ACGs) meet on Sunday mornings at 9:15am and are mid-sized learning communities. Groups are kicking off this Sunday! Check out the current topics on the ACG page and join a group!

August Energy Action: This month, our goal is to reduce energy usage. This can be done simply by switching from incandescent to LED lightbulbs, which could save you as much as $45 over two years per bulb! If you need a new fridge, replacing any fridge/freezer manufactured before 2001 can save you about $70/year if you buy an energy-efficient one. Please read more on the Energy Action Sheet about how you can cut down on your energy use and save money.

Membership Class: Interested in learning more about our church and possibly becoming a member? Whether you desire to pursue membership or you’d just like to come for informational purposes, we invite you to attend the fall membership class which will begin on Sunday, Oct. 23rd. To sign up, please message Lynne through our online contact form so that enough materials can be prepared.
