All-Church Picnic and Swimming: Relax and hang out with your church family on Saturday, August 6th! Join us for a picnic at church at 5:30pm and FREE swimming at the Bryan Park Pool at 7:15pm. We’ve got the pool to ourselves, so feel free to invite friends!

Ministry Open Houses: On Aug. 7th at 9:15am, come hear what we’ve got planned for the next year! Elementary Open House (chapel); Adult Community Group Open House (Gathering Space). Middle school and high school will meet in the Shack at 9:15.

Worship Schedule: We’re keeping worship at 10:30am and designating the first Sunday of each month as Family Worship Sunday, when elementary kiddos (kindergarten and up) will join the grownups in the Sanctuary.

Programs Resume: Our full schedule of Sunday morning programs will begin on Aug. 14th:

Wheeler Mission 100 Holes for the Homeless: You can help! Golfers (such as our own Chris Minderman) are helping those experiencing homelessness by committing to raise money as their entry fee for this Aug. 25th golfing fundraiser. Every $500 raised provides enough for one month of meals, shelter, and care for a guest at Wheeler Mission Bloomington. Learn more, sign up to golf, or donate to Chris’s fundraising efforts on the event webpage.

Huddles Help Needed: Join us in sharing God’s Story and the love of Christ with our elementary kiddos by helping lead one of our Sunday school classes for kids. Huddles meet at 9:15am from August 14th through May 14th, with breaks according to the school calendar. If you have questions or would like to join our Huddles team, please contact Aimee Tuszynski using our online contact form.

Small Groups: Interested in joining a small group? Check out the list of open groups!

GriefShare is a friendly, caring group of people who will walk alongside you through one of life’s most difficult experiences; you don’t have to go through the grieving process alone. A group will meet in Rm. 17 from 6 to 8pm every Wednesday, Aug. 17 – Nov. 9th. Go to GriefShare.org/groups/150145 for more detailed information about the ministry or to register.

August Energy Action: This month, our goal is to reduce energy usage. This can be done simply by switching from incandescent to LED lightbulbs, which could save you as much as $45 over two years per bulb! If you need a new fridge, replacing any fridge/freezer manufactured before 2001 can save you about $70/year if you buy an energy-efficient one. Please read more on the Energy Action Sheet about how you can cut down on your energy use and save money.

Membership Class: Interested in learning more about our church and possibly becoming a member? Whether you desire to pursue membership or you’d just like to come for informational purposes, we invite you to attend the fall membership class which will begin on Sunday, Oct. 23rd. To sign up, please message Lynne through our online contact form so that enough materials can be prepared.
