All-Church Picnic on Sunday, Oct. 31, following the 11:00am service. No need to bring anything, just come enjoy warm fellowship and hot soup on a cool fall day. Indoor and outdoor seating options will be available.

Creation Care Energy Workshops: We are offering a workshop that demonstrates easy ways to reduce your energy consumption – good for the environment and good for your personal budget. The workshop will be led by local energy experts who will demonstrate how this is easily achievable. The workshop will be offered four times, on Oct. 20, 24, 27, and Nov. 7. Click here to sign up!

Painters needed! Join us at the Wheeler Mission Men’s Shelter on Saturday morning, November 13th, to paint the Shelter interior. No experience necessary. We’ll meet at the Shelter at 215 S Westplex Ave at 8:30am and be finished no later than 1:30PM. (Lunch will be provided.) Sign-up at the Welcome Center or by clicking here.

Wheeler Mission also needs volunteers each week to help pick-up food donations from local restaurants and Kroger stores. Pick-ups are needed Monday through Saturday mornings (except Tuesdays) from 8-10AM, and you can volunteer for just one morning per week. If you’re interested in volunteering or would just like to learn more about what is involved, please contact Steve or Nancy Wooden at sandnwooden [at] aol.com or 317-966-0435.

Join the ACG looking at creation care! We will consider biblical texts, from Genesis to Revelation, that have bearing on the topic of creation care and environmental stewardship. Our guest, Dr. Brabson, will help us consider ways we can take these principles and put them into practice into today’s world. Join us Sundays at 9:30am in Rm. 18 or online: here’s the Video Link for the first session.

Support missions locally, nationally, and internationally! All funding for Christ Community Missions comes from your faith-promise pledge and not from the general budget or offering. The 2022 Missions budget will be set by the amount of faith-promise pledges received by Nov. 14th this year. Please prayerfully consider pledging this fall to give to CCC missions in 2022—click here to pledge!

Wheeler Mission Clothes Drive: Our elementary kids are holding a clothing drive for Wheeler Mission and invite you to join them in donating new socks and underwear and new/gently-used clothing, shoes, coats, or jackets in men’s and women’s sizes. Collection bins will be located at the Welcome Center through Oct. 24.

“Why Christianity Is Good for Science” Trinity Fellowship lecture by Dr. Ted Davis and panel discussion, Oct. 29 at 7:00pm. How do we understand the relationship between Christianity and science? Warfare? Partnership? Dr. Davis suggests the Christian faith fill in the picture of the world coming from the sciences. Christianity, according to Dr. Davis, can help us achieve a deeper understanding of the world and how we should understand it. Biblical faith offers both a powerful motive for investigating nature and a foundation for the very possibility of scientific knowledge. Visit TFIU.org.

If you are interested in being baptized during worship on Oct. 31 or in talking with a pastor about baptism, please contact the church office to schedule a chat.

Women’s ACG: “Great Is Thy Faithfulness: A Hymn Study”. Ladies, join us for an eight-week study on some of the church’s classic hymns. We will look at the stories behind them, the scriptures that inspired them, and the promises to be gleaned from them.  No book or outside study required—just come, listen, discuss, and get to know other Christ Community Women. Sundays at 9:30am in Rm. 17.

International Conversation Café: Come enjoy coffee, tea, and conversation with American and international friends, discussing common vocabulary and topics related to life and culture in the U.S.  Meeting 7:30-8:45pm on Mondays in Rm. 17. To learn more about attending or requesting a ride, go to iubism.org! Americans, contact Amy Morgan to volunteer.

Groups for Women:  A few groups are up and running! We have Bible studies meeting Tuesdays at 9:30am and Fridays at 9:30am. Moms of kids up through elementary age, be sure to check out Mom’s Rest Stop on the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays of the month at 9:30am! Get the details on groups for women.

Adult Community Groups: ACGs provide a wonderful opportunity to connect with others, enjoy fellowship, and learn in community. This fall, we will offer one Sunday morning ACG at 9:30am and one at 11:00am. While the topics are different in each hour, most topics repeat at both hours during the course of the 2021-2022 year. See what’s coming up!

Senior Adult Ministry (SAM): This active group meets the 1st, 3rd, and 5th Thursday of the month, usually at 1:30pm at the church. Enjoy fellowship, sing together, hear interesting speakers, play games, and take an occasional outing with this sociable group!

Middle School Girls Bible Study: Hey girls in grades 6-8! Come hang out, play games, and study God’s word together! Girls are welcome to come to any or all of our meetings: Mark your calendars for 3-5pm on Saturdays, 10/23, 11/20, and 12/11 this semester.
