Creation Care Energy Workshops: We are offering a workshop that demonstrates easy ways to reduce your energy consumption – good for the environment and good for your personal budget. The workshop will be led by local energy experts who will demonstrate how this is easily achievable. The workshop will be offered four times, on Oct. 20, 24, 27, and Nov. 7. Click here to sign up!

Pumpkin Trail: Parents and grandparents, if you have kiddos from infants up through 5th grade, bring the family to our Pumpkin Trail on Saturday, Oct. 23! Between 3 and 5pm, we’ll have a free photo station, trick-or-treat trail, and pumpkin patch for you to enjoy! We’ll have a pumpking for each child in 5th grade or younger to take. Costumes are optional. Please RSVP to Leah at leahwooden [at] gmail.com.

Support missions locally, nationally, and internationally! All funding for Christ Community Missions comes from your faith-promise pledge and not from the general budget or offering. The 2022 Missions budget will be set by the amount of faith-promise pledges received by Nov. 14th this year. Please prayerfully consider pledging to support CCC missions in 2022—click here to make a pledge!

Wheeler Mission Clothes Drive: Each semester, our elementary kids focus on people or organizations who serve others. This semester, they are focusing on Wheeler Mission right here in Bloomington and invite you to join them in donating clothing! Donations of new socks and underwear and new/gently-used clothing, shoes, coats, or jackets in men’s and women’s sizes will be accepted Oct. 17-24. Collection bins are located at the Welcome Center.

Senior Adult Ministry (SAM): Please join us in the Gathering Space on Thursday, Oct 21 at 1:30. Our special guest will be Jennie Hession, CCC member and elder. The SAM group meets the 1st, 3rd, and usually 5th Thursday of each month at 1:30pm.

“Why Christianity Is Good for Science” Trinity Fellowship lecture by Dr. Ted Davis and panel discussion, Oct. 29 at 7:00pm. How do we understand the relationship between Christianity and science? Warfare? Partnership? Dr. Davis suggests the Christian faith fill in the picture of the world coming from the sciences. Christianity, according to Dr. Davis, can help us achieve a deeper understanding of the world and how we should understand it. Biblical faith offers both a powerful motive for investigating nature and a foundation for the very possibility of scientific knowledge. Visit TFIU.org.

Baptism Sunday, Oct. 31: If you are interested in being baptized during worship on Oct. 31 or in talking with a pastor about baptism, please contact the church office to schedule a chat.

Women’s ACG: “Great Is Thy Faithfulness: A Hymn Study”. Ladies, join us for an eight-week study on some of the church’s classic hymns. Beginning Oct. 17 at 9:30am in Rm. 17.

Continue the Conversation: Starting Monday, Oct. 11, a group will meet to discuss the book The Third Option: Hope for a Racially Divided Nation by pastor and ex-NFL player Miles McPherson (available for $10 at our Welcome Center). The book is an optimistic call to a better way, a way of “honoring the priceless value of God’s image in every person.” Meeting in Rm. 18 from 7:00 to 8:30pm.
