Youth Pastor/Student Ministry Director Job Posting

Christ Community Church is a vibrant church in Bloomington, IN, home to Indiana University. Our proximity to the university provides exciting ministry opportunities, a wealth of resources, and its fair share of challenges.

CCC is diverse theologically while remaining within the evangelical tradition. It draws people from a wide range of denominations and traditions. We keep the central things central and celebrate our differences in other matters.

Job description

The Youth Pastor will be responsible for developing and leading the youth ministry at CCC. This role includes developing lay leaders, working with parents, and cooperating with other church ministries, especially children’s ministry. This individual is responsible for teaching, training, and mentoring these youth on behalf of the congregation and the parents who attend CCC.

This individual will be expected to attend all staff meetings and participate in the overall life of the congregation at CCC. Additional duties apart from youth ministry may vary according to the congregation’s needs. Among those duties, an ongoing cooperative “camp ministry,” running two weeks at the beginning of each summer, will be shared with the Camp Director. Other additional responsibilities will include periodic preaching and teaching or other responsibilities assigned by the Senior Pastor.

The Youth Pastor shall meet the qualifications of an Elder/Deacon. Because of this position’s leadership and teaching responsibilities, appropriate educational training, a college education, and preferably seminary training or its equivalent is expected of this staff member.
