Current ACGs

Sojourn ACG (Room 18)

Sojourn ACG focuses on topics related to Christian Living. Certainly not lite on content or theology, teachers work to connect their topics to everyday life as a follower of Jesus.

  • Current Series: Reducing Suffering from Anxiety; with Michelle Kloster (through Mar. 3). In this new series, we will strive to cultivate an environment of support to discuss anxiety as a part of our human condition. Together we will explore strategies for connecting to Christ through our anxiety and learn skills to reduce the impact of anxiety in our lives.
  • Past topics: Managing, Sharing, and Stewarding Wealth; Spiritual Transformation; The Good News of Failure; Shame; The Life of Joseph; Putting Our Faith to Work; Conflict Engagement; Battling Fear and Doubt; The Prayers of Jesus; Giving Thanks Together: Building Grateful Communities.
 

Cultivate ACG (Room 15)

The Cultivate ACG focuses is geared towards the life of the mind, cultivating Biblical and theological knowledge that will, of course, spill over into our lives as we seek to glorify God and enjoy him forever.

  • Current Series: The Atonement, with Bob Whitaker and Dan Waugh (Begins Jan. 7th). This ten-week series considers how the church has answered the question “How does Jesus’ work reconcile us to God?” We will explore Old and New Testament passages as well as writings of key figures in the history of the Church.
  • Past topics: Christ in the Old Testament; The Love of God; Healing; The Wisdom of the Early ChurchThe Birth Narratives; Father, Son, and Holy Spirit; The Challenge of the Old Testament.

 

Women’s ACG (Room 17)

The women’s ACG is a wonderful community of women committed to growing together in their knowledge of God and in their daily walk with the Lord.
  • Current Series: The Psalms, with Melissa Hullinger & Amy Hendershott (Begins Jan. 7).
    This ten-week series will guide us through the Psalms. With a slate of guest teachers, each class session will focus on one Psalm to dive into more deeply. Come join other CCC women in taking a fresh look at this honest and beautiful prayer book of the Bible.
  • Past topics:  The Time of Our Lives – Reorienting Our Perspectives on Time; Reducing Suffering from Anxiety; Ruth; Spiritual Practices; The Story of EstherThe Fruit of the SpiritJonah: A Study of Mercy.

 

International Coffee Hour (Room 5)

Hosted by Scott and Tracy Ketrow, the International Coffee Hour is designed for international students and visiting scholars to explore the claims of Christianity or to grow in their Christian faith. Being a Christian is not required. This will be a great time to ask questions and explore what Christianity is about. Breakfast will be provided and there is no cost to attend. If you need a ride, contact the church office for the Ketrows’ contact info.

Creation Care, with Dr. Ben Brabson, Professor Emeritus of Physics of Climate Change at Indiana University, and Dan Waugh. A look at biblical texts, from Genesis to Revelation, that have bearing on the topic of creation care and environmental stewardship. Dr. Brabson considers ways believers can take these principles and put them into practice into today’s world.

Spiritual Renewal, with Dan Waugh.
