Fall Break: The church office will be closed this Thursday and Friday, Oct. 17-18th. Our 9:15am programs will not meet on Sunday, Oct. 20th. Programs resume Oct. 27th.
College Lunch: College students, you’re invited to hang out in the Gathering Space after worship this Sunday for lunch and conversation on the subject of “Can faith and science coexist?”
Community Night: On Sunday, Oct. 27th, join us at 6pm for an evening of community. We’ll worship together and hear a member of our congregation who is an immigration lawyer with World Relief discuss commonly held myths about immigration. Here’s a big thank you to Vicky Getty and her IU dietetics program students, who will provide an Italian dinner for us!
Marriage Seminar: Saturday, 6-7:30pm, Nov. 2nd, 9th, and 16th.
This seminar is for married couples at all stages, believing we all benefit from reminding ourselves of certain truths, revisiting essential skills, and being intentional about developing relationships with our spouses. Topics include ‘the Purpose of Marriage’, ‘Soul Mates’, ‘Seasons of Marriage’, ‘Navigating Conflict’, ‘Forgiveness’ and more. Childcare is provided for children up through fifth grade. Registration is required. Sign up
Parents of Teens: We are in need of teens to come and help watch kids during the seminar. They will each be paid for each night they serve. Please contact Mindy Flick to let her know if your teen is able to help and which night(s).
Missions Budget Pledge Drive: Our missions program is funded entirely by donations you designate to missions; no funding comes from the church’s general budget or offering. The 2025 Missions budget will be set by the amount of pledges received before Nov. 17th. Please prayerfully consider making a pledge and supporting our missionaries and projects around the world in 2025.
2024 budget: $108,184
2025 pledges to-date: $54,277
Hurricane Helene Relief: Looking for a way to help hurricane victims? Mindy Flick reached out to a church in an area of Tennessee affected by Hurricane Helene and learned there is a great need for sleeping bags for kids…1,100 of them!
If you’d like to help, you can order sleeping bags from the Amazon gift list Mindy created. Your order will be sent directly to the partnering church in TN. (Note–we are not collecting sleeping bags at CCC.)
Americans with No Address: Are you curious about how the faith community and organizations, such as Wheeler Mission, are stepping up to meet the growing needs of those experiencing homelessness? Wheeler Mission—Bloomington will present “Americans With No Address,” a documentary produced by Robert Craig Films that touches on our country’s homelessness crisis, and what is and is not working.

Where: Sherwood Oaks Christian Church Fellowship Hall (2700 E. Rogers Rd.)
Cost: FREE; refreshments (popcorn/cookies/drinks) provided
