Directors of Middle School Ministries
Ken is originally from Appleton, Wisconsin. After high school, he left for Columbia, South Carolina, where he attended Columbia International University and received his undergraduate degree in Bible and Intercultural Studies in 2013. Shortly thereafter, he joined the United States Marine Corps as an active duty Marine Officer. He now works as the officer recruiter for southern Indiana. His next goal is to go to seminary to receive his M-Div.
Madelyn comes from an Army family, and did quite a bit of moving around as a kid. She received her undergraduate degree in Human Development from Washington State University. Now she works as a professional birth doula in Bloomington, supporting pregnant women and their families.
Ken and Madelyn met in Hawaii in 2016, and, after a bout of long-distance relationship due to deployments and schooling, got married in 2018. After a year of marriage, the Marine Corps moved them to Bloomington, and they jumped right in at Christ Community by becoming junior high leaders and beginning a small group with other young married couples. Both Ken and Madelyn have been junior high leaders in the past, and have loved getting to interact with kids in this age group. In their free time, they enjoy music, reading together, hiking, throwing toys for their hyperactive dog, and eating good food.
